ADD it Up! Social Skills Group

 (ages 7-12)

Get Focused on the Solutions! This class for children with Attenion-Deficit/Hyperactivity Disorder (ADHD) and/or behavioral challenges will focus on activities that stress interaction and cooperation.  Board games, building projects, role-play, and hands on activities will be utilized to provide the greatest opportunity for learning appropriate social skills and controlling impulsivity. Some of the targeted areas include:

• Getting attention in positive ways
• Maintaining self control (fidgeting behaviors & increased energy)
• Attending to an activity / task
• Waiting for a break in a conversation before speaking
• Turn taking and sharing
• Listening skills / following directions
• Sportsmanship
• Developing organizational skills
• Anger management
• Developing & maintaining friendships
• Avoiding teasing, bragging and criticizing
